Dummy modules act as placeholder modules. They have no I/O functionality. They can optionally be used to separate a miniature stack’s backplane into multiple systems.
Curtiss-Wright’s miniature data acquisition unit product line uses stackable modules. There are multiple situations where placeholder “Dummy” modules are needed.
Dummy modules have no I/O functionality, but they can pass the miniature stack’s backplane including power and data. Optionally, they can terminate data buses which can be useful to host independent systems in a single stack.
Additional options include sealed vs unsealed modules and flanged vs standard module frames. For double-wide stacks, dummy modules are required to balance the two stacks.
Dummy modules are compatible with the full range of miniature data acquisition units including the MCDAU-2000, MEDAU-2000, MWDAU-2000, MnACQ-2000, MnACQ-2600, MnACQ-2700, MDW-2020, and MSSR-2010.
A full table of the available placeholder modules is shown on page 2 of this data sheet.
