Precision on the Move: Accuracy for Next-Gen RCWS

Pro Optica S.A. set out to advance the future of armored vehicles with ANUBIS, a next-generation Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS). The goal was simple: give operators a system they could trust in any situation, while moving over rough terrain, supporting troops on the ground, or reacting to fast-changing threats.

To support national defense goals and NATO interoperability, the team needed a modern, stabilized weapon station that improved mission effectiveness without adding unnecessary complexity

The Challenge

To make ANUBIS effective in real missions, the turret had to stay accurately aligned even while the vehicle was moving. Rough ground, sharp turns, or sudden stops can all cause small aiming errors that affect performance. Pro Optica needed a stabilization and control solution that could consistently deliver accuracy under these conditions.

They also required something proven and dependable, with well-established standards and a strong reliability record. Because the development timeline was tight, any new components had to integrate smoothly and avoid delays. And, as with any modern RCWS, the system needed to remain flexible enough to support future upgrades, new weapons, and changing operational needs.

In short, the challenge was to achieve accuracy, reliability, and fast integration, all in a system built for both today’s missions and tomorrow’s requirements.
