Video Transcript

The Aiming and Stabilization system is comprised of several components:

  • Electromechanical Rotary Gear Drive
    • Transmission of rotary movements for traverse or elevation drives
    • Application: traverse drive for turrets up to approximately 28,000 kg
    • Elevation drive for barrels up to approximately 155 mm
    • Modular planetary gearbox maximizes stiffness, minimizes friction and backlash, and allows for different ratios and a spur gear

  • Nano Motion Controller
    • High power, SWaP-C optimized motion controller (up to 3.4 kW)
    • Ultra-low latency motion control and stabilization
    • Control one axis per controller; up to three axes simultaneously
    • High-speed communication interfaces (Gigabit Ethernet, CAN, RS-422/485, and USB)

  • Gyroscope
    • Fiber-optic sensor with outstanding, field-proven precision and robustness
    • Measurement of angular rate/inertial speed
    • High-speed, RS-422 or RS-485 interface
    • Withstands extreme shock and vibration in accordance with MIL-STD-810
    • EMI/EMC compliance in accordance with MIL-STD-461

  • Hand Controller
    • Simultaneous control of multiple axes
    • Fully customizable (right- or left-handed, buttons, sensors)
    • Ruggedized and field-proven design
    • Deflection both axes: +/- 24°
    • Signal interface: Discrete, CAN, RS-422/485, and USB
    • ESD protection acc. to IEC 610000-4-2

  • Motion Controller
    • Modular and scalable design (from 1.5 kW to 365 kW)
    • Up to 900A motor peak current @ 28 VDC
    • Up to 600A @750 VDC
    • Ruggedized and field-proven components
    • Functional Safety to IEC 61505 / IEC 61800
    • 36 VDC and 48 VDC variants on request

  • Electromechanical Linear Gear Drive
    • Transmits the rotation of the motor linearly
    • Application: Elevation drive for barrels up to approx. 120 mm
    • Modular design maximizes stiffness, minimizes friction and backlash, and allows different pitches, configurable screw strokes, and a spur gear
