Hi, I'm Dominic Perez, CTO for Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions. Today, I'd like to walk you through both the PacStar 400-Series and our newest edition, the PacStar 200-Series, showing you how they complement each other to offer a full spectrum of tactical communication solutions.
The PacStar 400-Series is our proven, widely fielded modular communications platform with more than 85,000 units deployed in the field. Its modular architecture allows you to quickly remove, replace, and reconfigure modules on the fly to meet evolving mission requirements. The modules themselves come in one, two, and three slot variants, and the chassis that they go into come in four and five slot variants.
Power flexibility is a core strength of the 400-Series. Each chassis supports direct wide range DC input from 10 to 35 volts for vehicle or generator power as well as worldwide AC input 100 to 277 volts, 50 60 Hz, it doesn't matter. Directly without a brick. And when you're using AC power, you also get access to these two additional AC outputs, so you can power additional accessories like a laptop or daisy chain the chassis together and not need to find a power strip. There's an integrated UPS in this unit that is powered by a MIL-STD 2590 battery providing between one and two hours of runtime depending on your payload.
And the chassis can be combined, a four-slot and a five-slot together take up a 4U rackmount space, or it can be housed in our carbon fiber airline carry-on sized case. For smaller deployments, the 400-Series modules can be removed from the chassis, snapped together, and powered with those handheld MBITR radio batteries to have a UPS-backed small team kit out in the field.
Now, the 200-Series brings together the same mission flexibility, but in a smaller, lighter form factor, about half the size of a comparable 400-Series module, makes it perfect for highly portable deployments such as executive communications or small teams of one to four operators. Today, the 200-Series chassis come in two or three slot versions with larger chassis currently under development. Like the 400-Series, the 200-Series supports direct DC power input and it gets its worldwide AC compatibility with a brick and it too can be powered off of MBITR radio batteries for UPS functionality.
The 200_Series can support small team deployments as well, but also can scale up very well to cover use cases for 1 to 200 users with the addition of more switching modules. Together, the 400-Series and the 200-Series complement each other and allow you to choose the correct equipment for the mission. Thank you for your time and I look forward to bringing you more videos about the PacStar communication solutions from Curtiss-Wright.
