Stephen Willis (13)

Product Marketing Manager

Stephen Willis is the aerospace test and measurement Product Marketing Manager at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering, a Masters in Philosophy for research in mathematical models and their market application for risk assessment, and a PG Dip in marketing and management. His current research interests include data acquisition, recording, and control systems and their applications in enabling a cost-effective route to gather large amounts of data. In particular, applications of interest include flight test, crash-protected recording, and structural/usage monitoring programs. He is the author of several academic papers and magazine articles.

Dominic Perez (3)

Chief Technical Officer

Dominic Perez joined Curtiss-Wright in 2008 as part of the company’s Quality Department. He took an active role in product development and was part of the team that created the first small form factor (SFF) PacStar 1200-Series modules which evolved into the industry-leading PacStar 400-Series product line. In 2013, he led the Quality Systems and Networking Engineering departments, which among other responsibilities created the PacStar Secure Wireless Command Post (SWCP). He was promoted to Vice President of Systems Engineering in 2020 and tasked to lead the development of the company’s next generation of integrated solutions. In 2021, he was promoted to Chief Technical Officer and appointed a Technical Fellow at Curtiss-Wright.

Mike Southworth is Senior Product Line Manager for Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions. He has 25+ years of experience in technical product management and marketing leadership roles. Mike holds an MBA from the University of Utah and a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University.

Steven Horsburgh, Ph.D. (3)

Director of Product Management

Dr. Horsburgh is the Director of Product Management at the Tactical Communications Group of Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions. After obtaining his Ph.D. in Physics, he has 36 years of research and development experience designing solutions to complex, large, data driven applications for commercial and military use. He has 18 years of experience with Tactical Data Links software design and development in both engineering and management positions. Prior to joining Curtiss-Wright, Steve worked in satellite communications and data management for the Naval Research Lab, Mission Research Corporation, and ATK and subsequently joined Tactical Communication Group, LLC (TCG) to architect, design and manage agile research and innovation projects related to Tactical Data Links including Link 16, Link 22, Link 11, JREAP, VMF, CoT, and CESMO.

Taylor has more than nine years of experience in the defense and aerospace industry. A native of Dayton, Ohio, the birthplace of aviation, she holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Wright State University and specializes in secure data storage solutions.

Product Manager for GPU and Edge Compute Solutions

Thomas King is a Product Manager at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, managing the GPU compute and graphics product line. Thomas has a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University with a specification in Space Systems Design. With a background in technical sales and applications engineering, he has experience supporting customer integration of embedded electronics. Thomas is interested in new and innovative solutions regarding sensor, AI, RF, and compute technology.

David Gregory is the Chief Architect and a Technical Fellow in Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions with PacStar Communications Group - working closely with the industry partners to identify & develop new technologies and integrated solutions for immerging military use-cases. Mr. Gregory has extensive experience fielding tactical networking solutions, with a technical background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, network security, security systems, digital design, CSfC (Commercial Solutions for Classified), and ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance).

Josh is a recognized Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) Subject Matter Expert. He is a Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO), TOP GUN Air Intercept Controller, and Marine Corps Weapons and Tactics Instructor. He served as the Tactical Air Operations Center Chief at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron 1, as the HQMC Aviation Digital Interoperability SME. Since retiring, he has held various multi-domain systems integration and business development roles in the industry over the last 10 years for C5ISR projects.

Aaron Frank (1)

Senior Director, C5ISR Product Management

Aaron Frank joined Curtiss-Wright in January 2010. As the Sr Director of the Product Management team, he is responsible for a wide range of COTS products utilizing advanced processing, video graphics/GPU and network switching technologies in many industry-standard module formats (VME, VPX, etc.). His focus includes product development and marketing strategies, technology roadmaps, and being a subject matter expert to the sales team and with customers. Aaron has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo.

She specializes in rugged embedded computing, networking, and mission systems for aerospace and defense platforms. She has more than two decades of experience in technology marketing and working with engineers and product managers to communicate the technologies shaping next-generation defense platforms. She is passionate about supporting those in service to their countries by helping deliver the trusted mission-critical systems they depend on to succeed in demanding operational environments.

Jared Holcombe (1)

Principal Systems Engineer

Jared Holcombe is a Principal Systems Engineer at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, bringing a proven track record of technical problem-solving and systems integration into complex engineering challenges. He joined PacStar in 2018 and developed his engineering foundation supporting the PacStar 400-Series ecosystem of modular, deployable networking and communications hardware. In 2020, when PacStar became a part of Curtiss-Wright, Jared continued to be an integral part of the engineering team. 

He is a dedicated and self-driven learner, having earned an associate’s degree at Linn-Benton Community College before continuing to his bachelor’s at Western Governors University where he focused on Cybersecurity and Information Assurance. His ability to quickly absorb new technologies and apply them to real-world problems has been a consistent thread throughout his career. He approaches every challenge with a strong curiosity and rigor, making him a reliable resource when the problem is novel, and the stakes are high.

Director of Business Development Networking, Communications and Space Systems

Jeff Nelson is a seasoned executive with more than three decades of leadership experience across defense, national security, and advanced communications technologies. He currently serves as a Director of Business Development at Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions, where he leads growth initiatives focused on networking and communications. 

Curtiss-Wright acquired Pacific Star Communications (PacStar) in 2020. Jeff spent over a decade at PacStar, where he played a central role in driving business development and expanding the company’s footprint in tactical networking and expeditionary communications. Prior to joining PacStar, Jeff served as a Satellite Communications and Network Security Analyst supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) and the Headquarters Department of the Army CIO/G6. Jeff also served the private sector with roles in telecommunications and enterprise solutions with L-3 Communications and Lucent Technologies, where he developed and managed large-scale national accounts and supported early Voice over IP (VoIP) and call center technologies. 

His military experience includes 20 years with the Marine Corps, Active and Reserves, where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. His assignments spanned operational and strategic roles, including Networks Branch Chief at Headquarters Marine Corps, and multiple deployments as a Communications & Information Systems Officer. 

He holds a Master of Science in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Business Management from Point Loma Nazarene University.

Steve Leaper (1)

Steve Leaper works for Curtiss-Wright in the role of product manager for flight recorders and bids manager. He joined Curtiss-Wright in 1986, initially working with tape-based voice and flight data recorders. Steve has spent virtually all of his career working with the flight recorder product range, with extensive knowledge of the product range and requirements. Steve has held the positions of engineer, program manager and had key account management responsibility for Leonardo Helicopters, BAE Systems, and Collins Technologies (formerly Goodrich), amongst others, while also representing Curtiss-Wright at international committees such as ARINC and EUROCAE.
