Flight test is essentially a process of proving that an aircraft is safe and performs as designed. Instrumentation engineers install sensors all over the aircraft and then fly it in a carefully controlled environment. The collected data must be high-quality as it’s the hard evidence that the aircraft is ready for its intended civil or military application.
