3U VPX TSN Ethernet Switch
The VPX3-656 is a SOSA® aligned 3U VPX Ethernet switch designed to bring deterministic networking to rugged defense and aerospace systems. With Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities aligned with the IEEE 802.1DP Aerospace Profile, the VPX3-656 enables time-critical Ethernet traffic to move across VPX systems with greater predictability, synchronization, and reliability. The VPX3-656 completes the Curtiss-Wright end-to-end TSN ecosystem, making it the first supplier to offer both a SOSA aligned TSN switching infrastructure and TSN-enable processing modules from a single source.
Built for modern net-centric architectures, the VPX3-656 supports both TSN and traditional best-effort Ethernet traffic on the same network. This helps system designers modernize legacy architectures, reduce discrete wiring, and support time-critical applications such as sensor fusion, targeting, autonomy, and distributed mission processing.
The VPX3-656 combines non-blocking line-rate switching, flexible copper and optical Ethernet connectivity, PTP Grandmaster capability, and rugged conduction-cooled packaging. When paired with other modules in the Curtiss-Wright TSN ecosystem, the VPX3-656 gives system architects a practical path to building an affordable, end-to-end deterministic Ethernet architecture that is aligned to SOSA.
